Gunship (1989) Amiga 500 Longplay Southeast Asia & Central America Missions Part 1
Gunship is a combat flight simulator video game developed and published by MicroProse. It first came out for the Commodore 64 in 1986, and later released for the Amiga 500 in 1989. In the game you control a simulated AH-64A Apache helicopter, navigating through missions to attack enemy targets and protect friendly forces. The game was a critical and commercial success at the time. Gunship features missions in five regions - 1. The U.S (Training) 2. Southeast Asia (1st Air Cavalry) 3. Central America (82nd Airborne Division) 4. Middle East (101st Airborne Division) 5. Western Europe (3rd Armored Division) The missions for each campaign are unlimited, there is no end to any of the four main campaigns. I added 7 missions for each of them and only 1 training mission. The game also does not have an ending. You will receive promotions during the game moving up in ranks, amassing medals, such as Purple Heart, Air Medal, Bronze Star, Silver Star, Distinguished Service Cross and the Medal of Honor. The final promotion you can achieve is to Brigadier General. Part 1 includes the training mission and the Southeast Asia and Central America missions. I played 10 missions for each campaign. Some of the missions were very hard, I got badly damaged during the missions and ended them with hard landings, although it got better during the last few missions. The game was very enjoyable to play, I can see why it was a hit during the time the game was released. There will be a Part 2 of Gunship, this will have the last two campaigns of Middle East and Western Europe. I hope you enjoy this classic combat flight sim from 1989 Please like, comment and subscribe
